Acoustic Electric Guitars

Acoustic electric guitars are considered more of an acoustic guitar than an electric guitar.

This is due to the production of the signal which comes from the vibrations created by the strings instead of the body of the guitar. They are sometimes fitted with a microphone that is inside the guitar. This microphone changes the vibrations inside the body of the guitar into electronic signals with an equalizer that is vital to the production of the sound.

Since these guitar are naturally inductive, the magnets used in the microphone will sometimes cause a hum. Because amplifiers for electric guitars have to use this type of power, there is virtually no way of getting rid of this hum. Since this is a problem, an invention called the 'humbucker' was invented to cut down on the humming.

The Humbucker
These are made of two coils of opposite polarity. The magnetic and electric coils were placed so that the noise hitting them would cancel each other out. They are wired inside the guitar so the signals as they are picked up and combined. This creates a different tone.

How Do They Differ From Electric or Acoustical Guitars?
Electric guitars have amplifiers and they are pretty easy to learn how to play. This guitar will probably cost more because of the amp, which you will have to buy. Both of these items together can get into some serious money.

The acoustical guitar is smaller than the electric guitar because of size as well as the shape can make a huge difference in the way they sound. To get the correct sound from an acoustical guitar the size has to be designed in a different way than the electric guitar.

The blended guitar, which is the combination resulting in an acoustic electric guitar, is similar in body to the acoustic.

However the neck is more of the electric guitar type. The amplifier is what makes the sound better. You may find that you like the this guitar better than the acoustic guitar which you might be using now.
